it is reported that about two mile* of graea on the Taratahi plains ware burned between the railway line and the main road on Wednesday, and tbs whole of tbs leasing com* pie tel y destroyed (say* the Daily). One telegraph poet is completely burned through and hanging by the wire, and the fire last evening (Wednesday) was burning near th* Waingawe bridge. The bleze crossed the main road near Mr Pt try* ploughed land and burned a ooaple of pan, is down. It evidently started through a spark from the Railway engine and travelled northwards, and was checked near the outbuildings of Messrs Williams and Boelham t. boiling down works, A Druid Lodge baa been formed at Woods Till*.
