Small Pox in Australia.
THE DISEASE STILL SPREADING. Stdnev, January 8; The Board of Health reports that *f the Preussen’s passengers in quarantine then are 40 pronounced cases of small pox, two being of a dangerous chaiecter, end then are also 38 suspected cases. One of the engineers of the Prenssen is missing, and ie believed to have escaped when the vessel was at Melbourne. Melbourne, January g. The small pox in quarantine ie increasing, and there are altogether 19 ease* amoeg the steerage passengers. Other daises an free. Rigid isolation is being enforced. Much disquiet has been occasioned owing to the disappearance of one of the engineers of the Preusseo, who escaped when the vessel reached Melbourne, and has since not been seen, Adelaide, January 3. Another case of small pox is reported from, the quarantine ground.
