GREYTOWN v. HUTT PARK CLUB. ! The first match outside the Valley was I played yesterday on the Greytown Reserve. I by the above teams, in the presence of a fair t number of spectators, and resulted in a rather one sided defeat of the visitors by an innings and 37 runs, In justice to the Hntt men, it could scarcely be called their best team (they had to play a substitute from Greytown, Wakelin). They were the first to bat, but Judd and Rutherford disposed of them for the small score of 14 tuns, the latter bowling 6 wickets in 8 overs for 3 runs, a very good analysis, Judd getting 4 wickets in 8 overs for 8 tuns. Greytown was not disposed of till they had ran up their score to 65, Cox being the highest scorer with a nicely played 17, Hawke contributing 11 in good style, whilst Knell, Turner, Beard, and J Jctdd did a fair share of scoring. The second innings of the visitors was uo better than the first, our bowlers rattling down their stumps for the same number as the first innings, 14, Joplin being top scorer with 8. Judd’s anar 1 lysis shows, in this innings, 5 wickets in 14 overs for 6 runs; Rutherford’s, 4 wickets in 13 overs for 6 runs. The bowling of the Hntt Park team bad a nice break with a varying pace—Allan 4 wickets for 19 runs, Easton 4 for 24, Death 1 for 3, being the most successful of five. Hawke captained Greytown, and Joplin the visitors. Sixteen “ ducks” were recorded, Hutt 13, Greytown 3. Greytown’s fielding was good, the little they had to do, whilst that of tbe visitors was very fair and even. Messrs F Jackson and W Lucena were the umpires. Appended are the scores:— Hutt.'
