FIRSIIIATCH, At 11 a.m. TO be held on the Greytown Racecourse by kind permission of the Stewards of the Wairarapa Jockey Club, on THURSDAY, November 11, 1886. An Open Sweepstake of 1 sot each. Seven birds. Twenty two yards rise. Ammunition to be supplied by the Club to competitors at cost price. Winner to rrceive two thirds, and the second beet shot the balance of the stakes. Names of competitors not being members of the Club to be submitted to the Committee for approval. Entries to close at 9 p.m. on the night of the 9th November, and will be received at the Greytown hotel, Wairarapa. All other matches on the same day to be poet entries made on the ground. V : PUBLIC NOTICE. i SITTING of the Royal Commission L appointed to enquire into and report upon the land claims of Volun-t-ters enrolled between the years 1873 and 1876, as also those of discharged soldiers of Her Majesty’s military and naval forces, and other claims of a like nature from any of the local forces of the colony, wll be held at the old Courtroom, Mastetton, at ten am. on FRIDAY, sth of November next, when the Cumm’ssioners will hear evidence in support of all claims brought before them. Claims in writing should be forwarded to the Secretary rtf tin Royal Commission, addressed Post Cilice, Masterton, on or before the evening ot the 4th of November, setting forth name, and address of claimant, regiment or corps to which he belonged, date of discharge, what application he has made for land or scrip, and to whom, and m y other information he may wish to give.
