Oddfellows’ Soiree.

No more enjoyable time could have been spent than that of last night at tht Town Hall, on the occasion of the annual soiree of the Oddfellows of Grey town. It was in every respect a success, and reflected credit not only upon the energetic committee who worked it up, but upon the Brotherhood it was connected with. The hall was tastefully decorated with mottos, flags and evergreens, and the back '.of the stage was ornamented with a new and beautiful banner which the Wellington district of Oddfellows have just received. It is a grand and attractive pieoe of work and it was unfurled for the first time in public at the soiree last night. The jausio was good, and was contributed by Mn

M. Wood (piano), Mr Lundqvist (violin) and M. Varnham (cornet). Bros Loasby ami Maguire acted in turn as M.C. The assemblage was a large one. |Only on one or tv o occasions before have we seen the Tow i Mall taxed with so many dancers, the number being swelled with many visiting brethren and ladies from other parts of the Valllet. Everybody appeared happy and delightc 1 and there was a warmth of feeling throughout the company that could not be excelled. XI e supper room tables were laid out in a mm t inviting manner, Mr and Mrs Reynolds attei - ding to the wants of the guests in a moi t painstaking manner. Altogether the Oddfellows' Soiree of 1886 was a most enjoy aide one.
