Costume Football Match.

The breaking np of tbe football season was commemorated at Greytown on Saturday hj - a match played in costume, and which drew together a fair concourse of spectators, the lalies being very numerous. The turn out in costume was not as strong as was hope 1, but there was plenty of fun among those who had interest enough in the game to dress up for the occasion. Mr Muir, as a clown, was a star of the first magnitude, as he acted bis part with great gusto. Pierce Cotter, a young ltd, made a capital negress, and Ernest Humphries, as a young lady from school, was all that could be desired. George Humph' lies, as an Irish Comedian, and Geo. Phillips as “ Hearty Sam ’’ were also good. There were several other lesser lights. Tbe motley costumes and grotesque antics of the players as they raced afier the ball, an i the way in which the players who were dressed in feminine attire were knocked horn dt combat at times gave rise to hearty shunts of lanchler. After a little by-play had bean indulged in fifteen players in costume challenged fifteen in plain dress, and a very interesting game followed, at the close of which it was apparent that some of the fancy costumes bad been through some rather lively scrimmages.
