THE GRAND ANNUAL SHOW Ujder the Auspices and Directions of the WAIRAHAPA & EAST COAST PASTORAL AND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY Will be held on the SOCIETY’S SHOW GROUNDS, CARTERTON, ON WEDNESDAY. NOVEMBER 3, 1886. THE SHOW Will include Horses, Cattle, Bhe«|>. Pigs, Implements, Farm and Dairy traduce, Vehicles and Industrial Exhibits. The Society will, as in previous jests, offer about iitj Gold and Silver Medals, as well as oath prizes in each of the s v ov# stated sections ol Exhibits, and in addition hereto a large number ol Valuable Special Prizes in ofwh and in plate have been promised, bringing the total amount of all prizes folly up to tha average of the last three years. Winnars of medals will have the option ol taking ia lieu thereof £1 cash for Silver Medals and £9 cash for gold medals. A Leaping Match, a Shearing Match and a trial ol Sheep Doga will take place during the afternoon. Programmes and Prize Lists, glviag full information as to conditions of entry, regglatioas of judging and all other details, ate now being prepared, and will bt published sad circulated shortly. Arrangements will bo made to ran SPECIAL TRAINS At reduced rates, also to have the Show Day Proclaimed a Bank and General Holiday throughout the Valley. Intending Exhibitors are informed that entries close on SATURDAY, the 33rd October, 1886, at noon, either at the Secretary’s Office, Carterton, or at the offices of Messrs B. Brown and Co, Uasterton, F. H. Wood and Co., Greytown, and J. D. Oakly, Featherston, and that no entries can be received after that date. All communications in reference to the Show addressed to the Secretary at Carterton, either by letter or telegram, will be promptly attended to. Admission to the Show Ground—Members free; non members before noon, 3s 6d ; after noon, Is.

For the purpose of affording more adequate encouragement to certain classes of Exhibits inch as DOGS. POULTRY, PIGEONS, INDUSTRIES.
