The Late Libel Action.

Sta Julius Voobl is disgusted with bit recent defeat in the Law Court* and bat instructed bis solicitor, Mr Travers, to move for a new trial iu the late libel action against our contemporary, the Evening Press, ontbt following grounds 1. That the Judge mi*< directed the jury ; 2. That the plaintiff baa further evidence to produce ; 3. That the verdict was against the weight of evidence. Notice to this effect baa been aervcd on ttat proprietors of the Evening Press. It is cons sidered rather doubtful that a new trial will be granted in this ease. The Judge* of the (Supreme Court do not grant applications foe new trial* aolest good tad aoffioiant oaott can be shown on th« part of ths applicant*. With regard to the ground* on which the present application is based it may b* rat marked :-l. That the Judge told the jury that they bad to determine the question m libel or no libel j S.
