The Maori Prisoners.

It ia satisfactory to learn that Te Whiti, Titokowaru and the other Maori prisoners have been released on bail, the understanding being that they are not to'return to Farihaka, in the interval elapsing before their trial. Should these men be oonviote 1 they deserve exemplary punishment, but the) idea of their being treated just the same as convicts for the three mouths they would have 4 been awaiting their trial, is repugnant to all sense of justice. It is well, therefore, that these prisoners have been liberated on bail.
