Stock Sale.

MrF. H. Wood had a busy day yesterday at bis Taratahi yards, the occasion being bis fortnightly stock side, which again attracted a large attendance of buyers, and was a decided success in every way. The yards were well filled with atook of all classes. In young cattle a very fine lot was yarded, both steers and heifers. Dairy cows were also well represented, and in sheep and horses buyers bad an opportunity of securing just wbat they wanted, as every description was there to select from. Prices ruled as under : In sheep, lambs, from 3s 3d to 6s 7d ; ewes in lamb, 3s 9d to 7s 9d ; wethers, 8s 3d. In cattle—Cows from 40a to 105 a; three year old bollocks, from 63s to 110s ; two year old steers, 43s to 60s ; two year old heifers, from 42a to 60s ; calves, 20s to 245. Horses— Hacks from 39s to £lO 16s ; draught, from £l4 10s to £2O. Some poultry and saddlery were also sold at fair prices. After the stock sale Mr Wood sold a section of land and six roomed house, situate in High Street, Carterton, for £166.
