NOTICE is hereby given that the Featherstou Town Board will, at a special meeting to be held on MONDAY 21st June, 1886, strike a general rate of a half-penny in the £ (real value) on all the rateable properties as appearing on the Valuation Roll, 1886, for the Featherstou Town District: Also, a Library Rate of one penny in the £, annual value. Such rates to be for the period of one year, namely, from the Ist April, 1886, to the 31st March, 1887, and to be made payable in one instalment at the Town Office on the Ist July, 1886. C. W. NOTICE is hereby given that the above Board intend, at a meeiug to be held on SATURDAY, JUNE 19, instant, to make a RATE of o;jd in the £ on all properties in the Featherstou Road District as appearing in the Valuation Roll now in force, and a RIVER RATE of OJd in the £ on all properties within the Waioliiuo River District in the Featherston Road District, for the year commencing on the Ist April, 1886, and ending on 31st March, 1887. Such rates to be payable in one sum on the 30th day of June, 1886. Situation ; Mangatainoka Bridge, near main road, 7 miles south of Woodville, T T is hereby notified that the Pahiatua Village Special Settlement Sections wil) be open for selection at this office on and after Friday, June 18, 1886. Applications can also be lodged with the ranger, as Steward of the Village Settlement, at Rahiatua up to ICth June. There are 58 sections, ranging in area from 4 to 20 acres each ; leases at rentals from about 2s 9d to 6s an acre will be granted for 30 years, renewable for fur ther periods of 21 years, but without righof purchase. Advances on certain condit tions may be obtained from the Govern* ment to enable selectors to build houses and improve their holdings ; 5 per cent, will be charged on the amount advanced. Residence and certain improvements are compulsory.
