The Rising Sun Hotel.

In a recent issue we briefly referred to the inUntiorr of Mr John Staples, of Wellington, to erect a eocn* m odious new hotel on the site of that once well known hostelrie “The Rising Sun." Since then wa bare inspected the plans of the now building as prepared by Mr Chatfield, architect, Wellington. The first elevation shows a handsome two storey building with centnl doorway and thirteen large windows. Thera is also another door at the angle of the building. The genera] appearance of the buildiiur as shown in the plans is handsome and imposing. The side elevation has also a central doorway and eleven windows. On the ground floor, on entering by the front door, there is a large hall, with an extensive bar and bar parlor on the right, and commercial room and dining room on the left. Each th<ise two lastmentioned rooms arc of large sice, neing reflectively 24tt x 13ft, and 24ft x lift. At the end of the liall la a broad staircase leading to the upstair rooms ; while a little to the right on the ground floor isaeommodi* ous billiard room 28f! x 23fl in sixe. On the opposite side of the passage is a silting room and liedroom. Towards the rear are the kitchen, scullery, and three servants’ bedrooms. On the first floor arc two long sitting rooms, and fifteen bedrooms, all of which arc to he fitted up with every fHisaihle comfort and convenience. There is also a large hath room, and other conveniences. A back stair entrains is also indicated on the plans, by which the up|*r floor can be entered, as well as by the main staircase from the central pan of the ground fl<»or. Altogether, the plans indicate that the building intended to be erected will possess al! the main features of a first class hotel, of an extensive, commodious and comfortable character, offering every convenience to travellers and visitors.
