Hospital Soiree.

A meeting of ladies and gentlemen was held at Mr F. H. Woods auction room yesterday afternoon to make arrangements for the forthcoming soiree in aid of the lands of the Greytown Hospital. In the absence of Mr Wood, Dr Bey took the chair. It will be remembered that a soiree was held on Easter Monday of last year and was such a pronounced success that the committee resolved to make it an annual affair. The meeting yesterday afternoon was attended by Mesdamee Bey, Cameron, Hastwell, Smith, Taylor, Tally and Wood, and Messrs Gray, T. A. Cox, Nation and Dr Bey. The following ladies were appointed a sub-committee to wait upon the ladies of the township fur donations to the table in the supper room: —Mesdamee Hastwell, Taylor, Tally and VVood. It w«g resolved that the prices be the same as last year, 7s 6d double ticket; 5s single, and 3e 6d extra lady. Mrs Tally suggested that ladies in the other townships would gladly assist if they were communicated with. A note' was read from Mr and Mrs Reynolds offering their services gratuitously in the sapper room on the evening of the soiree. The offer waa received with thanks. MrT. A. Cox kindly offered to assist Mr Wood, the secretary to the Hospital, in any work connected with the soiree, and this offer was also accepted with thanks. Messrs Black. Gray, Wyett and Cox were elected a committee to see to the ball decorations, and ether matters. Tba following general committee, was appointed, with power to add to their number:—Messrs W. C. Buchanan, M.H.8., R. C. Black, W. E. Bidwill, W. C. Cuff, A. Gray, J. Martin, W. C. Nation, C. Phillips, C. McSbane, F. W. R. Seed, W. Skeet, G. Wyett, H. Barmy, H. R. Bunny, J. G. Cos, A. T. Cox, Mooklon, J. Donald, W. Booth and Dr Bey. A vote of thanks to the ladies for their attendance and to the chair ooncloded the meeting.
