Waiohine River Board.

The Waiohiue River Board held a meeting last night. Present —Messrs Wyett, (chairman), tiaigh, Kimberley, Gallagher. A letter was read from the Colonial Secretary’s Office in reply to one by Board, asking whether the existence of the present Board could be sanctioned or time extended for an election, because of the omission through inadvertence to elect a Board in tne month of January. The letter stated that the Governor had no power in the matter. It waa resolved that it is desirable that the present members of Board resign so that new elections may be held, as through inadvertence no new Board is electee in accordance with the new Act It was resolved that at the next meeting of the Board a resolution be brought forward foi the purpose of levying a rate of one shillitq in the £ on all land of rateable value it the Waiohine River District, which may bt subject to the same.
