The other day it was stated that the new Auckland Woollen Manufactory content plated getting with their other machinery a combing plant. We understand that some of the Southern woollen factories-the Roslyn and Kaiapoi—have taken time by the fore* lock, and have combing plants now on the way out from England. The Mosgiel Woollen Factory is sending a tine collection of its manufactures to the Indian and Colonial Exhibition, and Mr Morrison, the manager of the company, will probably go home to the Exhibition in connection therewith. At Frebbleton, Canterbury, live stacks of corn belonging to Mr E. Campion, and a combine belonging to Mr F. W. East have te-'D destroyed by lire. Mr East’s loss is ! JC-HJi’, and ue has no insurance.
