Romney Marsh rams were not fo much in demand this year as in ’previous years, but although prices did not rule high this year, doubtless on account of the low price of wool and mutton now prevailing, still the demand for rams generally was greater than that of previous seasons. MESSRS LOWES Jc lORSS’ SALES. On account of Mr John Reynolds four two tooth Romney Marsh rams were sold for 60s each, and five two tooth Cotswold rams for 20s each. On account of Mr J Reid of Elderslie some Romney Marsh rams were at prices ranging from two guineas upwards. On account of Mr John Burrow nine Romney Marsh ram lambs were disposed of for 8s per head ; and Mr Hugh McMaster's Lincoln rams fetched about 60s per bead. There were also 13 Romney Mars rams, the property of Mr A. 8. Grant, which brought 10s each, rnd some Merino rams on account of Mr Burrow 15s'each. Mr Rarner’a Lincoln rams were •old fur 60s, and his ram lambs for Us, and hia ewes for Bs. Mr Hugh McMaster's ewes brought 6s Sd each. The owners and breeders of sheep throughout the Wairarapa were well repreoented at tbe Fair, not many of those who took a lively interest in tbe matter of breeding and sheep farming being absent.
