The Carterton Bifle Volunteers met tor drill on Wedn*«day night, under Captain Bennett and Lieut Moore. There was an excellent master and Sergt-Major Bexar gave bis usual instructions. It u intended to challenge the Oreytown volunteer! to a return •hooting match, to be held at the Carterton range to-morrow week. The Feathenton! Bifle Volunteers had a good muster at their parade on Monday night.

The Oreytown Volunteers met for their fortnightly drill on Tuesday night. The attendance was very * limited, only about eighteen of all ranks were present. Drill Instructor Beur put the men through several exercises. •
