The time of the Clareville Handicap was 2 min 16 l-slh sec, not 2 min -17 l-sth sec, as reported in last issue. The following gentlemen have been elected Mayors for their respective boroughs Hokitiki, J. Tail ; Wesitporl, J. Hughes ; Invercargill, J. L. McDonald ; Dunedin. J, Barnes; Blenheim, G. Henderson •, Greymouth, J. Nancarrow ; Palmerston North, M. Ferguson. From Dunedin we learn that the Union Company have decided to send the first two boats through to San Francisco, without transhipping at Honolulu as it was originally in tended.
