The War in Bulgaria.
GBEECE REQUESTED TO EXFLAIN. RUSSIAN PROPOSALS. A SEVERE ENGAGEMENT. THE SERVIANS REPULSED. REINFORCEMENTS FOE PRINCE ALEXANDER. THE SERVIANS DRIVEN ACROSS THE FRONTIER. AUSTRIA TO OCCUPY BEKVIA. London, November 24. The statement that the Porte had summoned King Milan to evacuate Bulgarian territory is believed to be untrue. The Sultau, however, proposed to Prince Alexander that he should suggest au armistice between his forces and those of King Milan. Prince Alexander, in reply, deprecated the idea of an armistice until his troops had entered Servia. The Porto has requested Greece to explain the cause of the recent increases iu her armaments. Twelve thousand Roumeliau miJitiahavo been sent to reinforce Prince Alexander in Bulgaria, Vfiddin is now invested by the Servians. The Servians are retiring to tho frontier, to await the arrival of tho second reserve, which is being called out. It is announced that Russia has proposed to the Great Powers that they shall intervene with a view of putting a stop to the present hostilities between ccrviaand Bulgaria. The Servian icrces under King Milan yesterday xnad«* an attack on the entrenched position held by the Bulgarians in the vicinity of the Diagoman Pass. A severe engagement ensued, resulting, after several hour-!* hard lighting, in the Servians being repulsed and being compelled to retire upon Zaribrod and Trn. (November 25. The Bulgarians have succeeded in driving the Servians across the frontier. A panic ensued amongst the latter, and they are now retreating upon Nish. The Servian troops have evacuated Bulgaria. The Times announces that it is probable King Milan will abdicate, and that Austria will occupy The powers proposed an armistice to King Milan, to which he agreed. He further offered to conclude peace with Bulgaria, but Prince Alexander declined to listen to any overtures until the district around W iddm was evacuated by the Servians, and an in demaity fix*'d upon as coinpen. alien for tho violation of Bulgarian cciuu'.y.
