The Masterton Show.

Tlie first annual Show of the Mimlertou Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on Wednesday, a splendid day favoring it. During the day the town of Mastcrtou was pretty lively with visitors from the surrounding districts and not a few came up from Wellington by train. It is supposed that close upon 2000 persons were present at the Show. The following are some of the Judges' awards ; CATTLE. Johnston ; highly commended, J. Macara. Two ewes with Lincoln lambs at foot—First, B. P. Perry ; second, F. B. Chalmers ; highly commended, M. Holmes and E. Meredith. Mr E. The Horticultural blmw was held m the Theatre Royal. Tim piinoipal prize ‘alcor in pot plants was Mrs Botham. Mon-rs Boddington, A. Booth, J. Russel). A. Eikiur, and M. Wilton also showed up well. Mr Collette hnd a splendid collection of cut flowers.

At the Mastorton Show, Mr 0. MeMustcr'a bull Advocate, look first prize in his claps, prize tor champion bail, pri/n for best hull on the ground and nlso a tpecial prize. In Grade Shorthorns Brazza te.-.k Ist prize as host Shorthorn hull, mol Mr .i C. Vulhmcc’s special prize. Paramount to A sicond ptize for purebred Shot thorn hull :i y ear old. Third Piiuco carried off first prize for purebred Shorthorn bull, two year old. Outlaw was also highly commended ns s tines year old ol the same class.

For cow unv age (Grade Mb tin horn) in calf or with calf at foot Miriam took second prize. For cow dry (same class) Cadger took first prize, rn c A.C. taking" second puzo, and Bones highly commended. Mr D. McMusler, on account of the distance to travel irnm tlie Lower Valley was compelled to leave the cream of his stock at home.
