Handicap Hurdles, 50 sovs, lit miles Loch Lomond, lOst; Cribbage, lOst; Dan O’Connell, 9st 71b ; Sea Gull, Oat 7lb ; Little Scrub, Ost; Havelock, 9st. Trial Stakes, 50 sovs., 1 mile and a distance—Theodore, Capuoine, Nikau, Loch Lomond, Fritz. NOMINATIONS. Spring Handicap, 50 sovs, 1 mile--The Consul, Revoke, Pasha, Rumour, Dan O’Connell, Cribbage, The Slave, Gentle Annie, Rata, Forward, Little Scrub, Theodore, Nikau, Talent, Capucine. THE VICTORIAN DERBY. The Victorian Derby was ran at Flemington on Saturday, with the following result:— Nordenfeldt 1 First Chester 2 Winchester 3 Won by half a head amid tremendous excitement. Trenton won the Melbourne Stakes, and The Agent the Hurdle Race.
NEWMARKET HOUGHTON MEETING. At the Newmarket Houghton Meeting on October 28th, the Dewhurst Plate resulted as follows : Duke of Westminster’s Ormonde .. ~ 1 Duke of Westminster’s Whitefriar.. .. 2 Mr R. Peak’s Murdoch 3 NORTH CANTERBURY SPRING MEETING. The North Canterbury Spring Meeting was held at Rangier a, on October 29. The following are the results of the principal events : Open Handicap.— Secretary, I ; Herrington, 2 ; Meiton 3. Nome Canterbury Cup.—Billy, 1; Puck, 2 ; Brian Boru, 3.
