Featherston Town Board Election.

To th' KiUhir of >hc Slondord. Sir., —Now that there is a vaonucv to be filled in our Town Board, it seems to be a good opportunity to place before the ratepayers what 1 body i-.f men will do if they are Hot thoroughly conscientious, or I should say, if the majority of tnc-m arc not so ; because the minority are, of course, at the mercy of the others. I will put the matter as shortly as possible. Tenders were called, a short time since, for leasing t!.- Eecrcatiou Reserve of two acres, situated in the township, for which I hear three tenders were received, amounting respectively to £2. I'll, and £lO. I am told, on undoubted authority, that the tenderer (having apparently most friends on the Board), gut the Reserve. Now, this is fair play and honorable conduct with a vengeance, and it is a pity that the other two members who voted for this did not resign so that their places might be more worthily filled. The candi late who will have this disgraceful piece of work wiped out is the man for me. My advice to the Ratepayers is,—See that yon put in a man on whom you can reiy. I am, Ac., Reform. Featherston, August Id.
