The Case of Hastie.
Thu man Hastie who was Conimittod foi seven clays to gaol at Wellington last Saturday, was found to be so seriously ill that he was removed to the hospital on Wednesday. It is ft strange way in which the unfortunate man has been treated. When Hastie was half dead mid delirious, Dr Chilton ref used to admit
him to the Hospital. Then he was kept three days and nights in a police cell, and afterwards sent to gaol This Spartan treatment nearly killed the man, so that purpose having been accomplished by tho Wellington authorities, they hare sent their victim to the hospital at last.
