As Sir William Jervois and party entered the Drillshed the vast audience received the Governor standing, and when he entered, the large organ, leading a choir of tiOO voices, pealed forth the National Anthem with grand effect. When the air was finished the audience sat down and Sir Julius Vcgel in a few words celled ripen bis Excellency to open the Exhibition. His Excellency step ped forward and delivered a sfc, rt speech and the Exhibition was declared open.
