Carterton Town Board.

The usual monthly un i ting i f tUe abo,.* was held on Monday. Present—Messrs U. Fairbrother (chairman), Calhstcr, Cnupbell, Parker and Vickerstaff. The Treasurer reported a credit I alamo of £77 12s Gd. The Inspector’s report was read and attention was drawn to the state of the tootpath Galiie's corner to Mr Call’s, i t was moved by Mr Callisteraud seconded by Mr Parker, that the kerbiug bo lowered some three or four inches, as it was considered too liich. Fairbrother offering r piece of hnd for a gravelpit at a certain price, namely, five acres at £l-1 per acre, on the following terras £lO down, and the balance as may bo arranged at 3 per cent. It was resolved to inspect the land before deluding on the matter, and if tho Boaid decided on purchasing, the Chairman and Mr Callister were to araauge with Mr Fairbrother.
