The Waiohine Toll Gate.
To the Editor of the Slumlord
Sir,—l think it would be well if a biuail deputation of Qreytown residents waited upon the Featherston Highway Board, at the next meeting, with respect to the letting of lue above toll for another year. The County Council has determined to call for tenders before May 11, so that there is litrlo time to lose. lam sorry that time is so short; but the Council was not informed of the matter until to day. It is much to be regretted that the Chairman of the Council pays so hltlo attention to his duties.
I think it would be well also if a deputation waited upon the Taratahi Carterton Highway Board on the matter. Settlers interested must look to the Highway Boards for relief from tbits toll, as there is little chance of the Council assisting them. I am, &c., Coleman Phillips. Ureytown, April 11.
