Things Ministerial.

Ministers are feathering together in Wellington. Sir Julius Vogel and Mr Ballanoe have come baoK to the Empire City from Gisborne. Sir Julius is in high feather. The hot springs of Waiwera have set him up a bit and improved his general health, while his always excellent appetite, has developed a considerable access of power. It is true that Sir Julius is as yet unable either to stand upon his feet or to walk, but nevertheless with improved general health he hopes for the best. . r Ballauce also is jubilant. Ho claims to have settled everything amicably with Tawbiao and the King Natives, and to have obtained the consent of the native owners of the laud on both sides of the central railway Hue from Te Awamutu to Marton for the construction of the North Island Trunk Bailway. The work of constructing the railway lino is now to be commenced simultaneously at each end. This news is good so far a* it goes. At present however, no details are to hand of Mr liallaace’s negotiations with the natives, or of the conditions upon which they give their consent to the construction of the railway lino. Certainly, Mr Ballunco declares that everything is all right, and perhaps his mere ip- <e dixit should be conclusive. We would rather however wait till the details come to hand of his negotiations with the natives, before coming to any definite conclusion on the subject.
