(to the editor of the standard.) Taueru, 291b June, 1874. Sir, —A paragraph appears in your issue of the 27th instant., slating that the man Andrew Butler, whose death occurred in the Hotel on the 23rd instant, " was found dead in his bed ” As this statement is incorrect I beg to put you in possession of the facts:— Butler had medical attendance fur more than a month, and had been nightly attended for a week prior to his death, which was witnessed by myself and the inmates of the bouse.
