SWIMMING
SOUTH AUCKLAND CENTRE A sub-committee, consisting of delegates from the Te Awamutu and Cambridge clubs, with the centre president and secretary., has made representations to the council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association for the revision of the centre's boundaries. It was considered that the South Auckland Centre was too unweildy for successful management.. The sub-committee resolved to apply that the King Country portion of the area be removed from the centre's area; the northern boundary to remain as it is at present; the southern boundary to be from Kawhia to Te Awamutu and thence on to Putaruru, and then to follow the main road south through Atiamuri, Oruanui, Wairakei to Taupo township, thence in a straight line to Galatea and on to Opotiki. The committee considered that the removal of the King Country area would tend to more successful management of swimming. It was suggested that the King Country be formed into a new centre or allotted to another existing centre. The matter will be considered at the next meeting of the New Zealand Council.
