TE RAHU NOTES
TENNIS CLUB DANCE. (Own Correspondent.) Another of the series of fortnightly dances organised by the Te Rahu Tennis Club took place last Saturday night when over 50 people attended at the local Hall. Music was supplied by Mrs Holmes with extras played by Mrs Allan Bowler. These dances are the outcome of an effort to raise funds to have the Club's courts asphalted and all members of the Club are working hard toward this end. During the evening opportunity was taken to present to Mr Norman Binns (who is leaving the district) a pocket wallet from his fellow club members as a small appreciation of his interest and work given for the Club both as a player and member of the committee. Mr Binns, in a few well-chosen words, thanked the members for their gift and wished the Club every success for the future, he hoped their interest would be maintained as in the past and concluded with a word of encouragement to the district's new-ly-formed hockey club (of which he was a member). The next dance will be held on Saturday, June 2nd.
