GROWING GAILLAIRDIAS.
Gaillardias are very easily grown, and will thrive well in all and every variety of weather. They will grow as well in country gardens as in town. Seeds may be sewn now, and are obtainable in separate shades or mixed. A good rich soil will give excellent results, but it will be found that the plants grow well in almost all soils. They will benefit by watering, but will withstand a considerable amount cf dry weather. Keep the soil stirred round the plants, and later a mulch of weil-decayed manure will be found beneficial. In the second year of growth this may be forked into the soil. Old plants that are not flowering, and do not appear healthy, may be divided,'and the pieces replanted. -The, flowers, vary in. colour from orange and yellow shades to deep red. They are'also obtainable in variations 'of these-shades.
