AROHENA LANDS
SOLIDEII SETTLERS’ PROBLEMS.
A VISIT OF INSPECTION
Following- on representations made at the recent meeting of soldier settler occupiers of Crown lands convened by the Te Awamutu branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association a visit of inspection was paid yesterday to the Arohena district by a representative party including Messrs W. J. Broadfoot, M.P., A. Sutherland (Ngaruawahia) and S. C. Macky, members of the Auckland Land Board, At 11. Storey, member of the Waipa County Council, and W. M,agill, a member of the local R.S.A. executive. The visit was made primarily with the object of seeing for themselves the condition of the farm lands in the Ai’ohena district, and of further conferring with the Grown tenants there with the object of assisting some of them. The party was met by representative settlers including Messrs A. R. Weal and F. J. McDevitt, ~ and the situation explained to the delegation, and it is expected that some relief and adjustment will be afforded as a result of the representations.
