Twelve thousand persons a month have been assisted from the Salvation Army's Samaritan centres at Wellington, Auckland, Christchureh, and Dunedin (states a report from the Army headquarters). In the men's industrial homes a total of 850 men sleep each night. The total number of meals and beds supplied to men, women, and children during the year was: Meals, 1:285,700; beds, 466,900.
