INCREASE OF SALES.
ENGLISH COMPANY'S EXPERIENCE. It is reported in the Yorkshire Observer that the sales of Rowntree and Company, Ltd., cocoa and confectionery manufacturers, throughout 1931 exceeded the 1930 total. " We have expended large sums in making known our wares by advert tising," said a director of Rowntree and Company in an interview with the Yorkshire Observer recently. " Successful advertising is not borne by the consumer, but more than pays for itseli 1 by the increased volume of turnover to which it leads,, with consequent reduction in production and selling costs. "In these times of unemployment we are delighted, to be able to say that these increasing sales have enabled us to increase the number of our employees as compared with a year ago."
