"It seems to me, as a layman. that the controlling authority has been very lax in its obligation to other contributing bodies in allowing the present traffic bridge at Hamilton to get into such bad condition to need the very heavy outlay in repairs." commented a Waipa county councillor at Wednesday's meeting during a discussion on the provision of a second traffic bridge over the Waikato River. He added that it appeared to him that a controlling atuhority over any bridge should see to it that the structure was maintained in reasonably good order.
