Mr W. J. Broadfoot, M.P., was a visitor to Te Awamutu district to-day. Mr Dan Bryant, of Hamilton, is in Te Awamutu district to-day. Mrs W. Germann, of Paterangi, is at present visiting relatives in Auckland. Mrs Allan Kay, of Parawera, who has been on a visit to Auckland, returns to-day. ■Mr and Mrs E. Findsen left on Saturday evening to spend then- annual vacation with relatives in Auckland and later in Ngaruawahia. Miss Jean McNeill is the guest of Miss P. McCarroll, Alexandra Street. Miss Betty Potts is spending her vacation with Mrs C. M. Glimmer, of Morrinsvire.
Mrs G. Allwood, of Morrinsville, is visiting her daughter, Mrs Robertson, Alexandra Street.
Mrs Hunte:- and the Misses E. and B. Hunter, of Teasdale Street ; have returned from a fortnight's holiday in Auckland.
An engagement is announced between Ethney May, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. D. Cobb. 11, Te Aroha Street, Claudelands, ami Ren Anton, youngest son of Mr and Mrs A. Tumwald, Qhaupo. The social 'committee of the Te Awamutu Croquet Club arranged a very pleasant eucnie party on Wednesday afternoon at the residence of Mrs W. Jeffery, and r>r.7es wove won by Miss Burke and (.hidden number) * i Mesdarne.s O. S. West and R, Noonan. It was decided during the afternoon tn hold a larger tournament shortly, the proceeds to assist the local Unemployment Relief Fund.
Dr Lauchlan Mac Lean Watts, of Glasgow Cathedral, has been spending a few days as the guests of Mr and Mrs J. A. McGechie, in Te Awamutu, and he leaves Auckland to-morrow on his return to the Homeland. Dr Watts came to New Zealand on holiday, and has spent some time at Kio Kio, with Mr and Mrs John Budge, of whom he is a nephew.
