Mr McDougall went to his solicitor and told him all the facts of the case. " Oh, yes," said the man of law, "we're sure to win on those facts, and I will readily take up the case for you." McDougall: " Ye honestly think that it's a good case ? " Solicitor: " Undoubtedly. In fact, although I am not usually given to prophecy, I can guarantee a verdict for you. There is not the shadow of a doubt about it." McDougall: " Ah, weel, then, I'm pbleeged tae ye, but I dinna think I'll go tae the law this time. Ye see, the case I've explained tae ye is my opponent's ! "
