PICTURES AT THE EMPIRE THEATRE. The Empire Theatre is offering for the holiday season extra special attractions commencing on Christmas Eve (to-night). "Don't Bet on Women." a big comedy success, featuring Edmund Lowe and Jeanette MacDonaM, will be screened this evening. For Christmas Night a special feature from England's greatest studio, Elstree, depicting the landing of troops and life in England and on Gallipoli, will be shown. On Saturday a Monday there will be provided a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer feature of outstanding merit called " A Gentleman's Fate," starring John Gilbert, Louis Wolheim, and Anita Page; the splendid story grips all through, and Gilbert is alone well worth seeing. On Tuesday (29th) and Wednesday (30th) another British feature / in " Alibi" will be the bill of fare; it is a real mystery story, and shows how a perfect alibi failed. For Thursday (Ist January) and Friday Fox Films will present the real Milton Sills in Jack London's greatest sea romance, " The Sea Wolf'; and for the following Saturday and Monday the great comediennes, Marie Dressier and Polly Moran. will appear in " Reducing," the greatest laugh producer of the year.
