Mr W. J. Broadfoot, M.P. for Waitomo, accompanied by Messrs W. J. Bowyer, riding member for Honikiwi, on the Otorohanga County Council, and G. Jackson ,county engineer, visited the Te Rau-Mauku and Honikiwi districts on Tuesday in order to meet deputations of settlers regarding metalling -roads in the Te Rau-Mauku and Tapawai districts Yesterday the same party visited the Maihiihi, Mangarongo, Paewhenua and Rangiatea districts. Anzac Day services at Otorohanga will be held in the Town Hall, and a parade of cadets, returned men, territorials, friendly societies, school children and the Fire Brigade, will be held along Maniapoto Street prior to the function at the Soldiers’ Monument.

The profits from the Otorohanga Municipal Pictures for the past year (to 31st March) show an increase of 25 per cent over that of the previous year. The revenue from the ratepayers has increased by £IOO. The Rev. E. H. Kedgley was farewelled by a large number of friends in the Presbyterian Hall on Tuesday night, prior to his departure to take charge of St. Peter’s ' Church, New Lynn. Mr Kedgley was the recipient of a substantial cheque from his late parishioners. The ringing of the fire bell brought the majority of Otorohanga citizens into the streets yesterday afternoon, when it was discovered that a fire was alight among gorse and cut weeds in the residential part of the town.
