THE SHOW
BIG EVENT TO-MORROW.
RECORD ENTRIES AND FIRSTCLASS EXHIBITS.
With fine weather there is every reason to expect a record attendance at Albert Park to-morrow for the eighth annulal exhibition of Te Awaiwutu, Agricultural, Pastoral, and Hor- , tfcultural Association. The response by exhibitors has been good; in fact, in several of the sections there is a record entry; while the quality is well maintained. Te Awamutu district has gained a reputation for the high standard of its stock, including horses., fat and dairy cattle, and sheep, and it will be interesting at to-morrow's show to make comparisons with the best from other parts of Waikato. Several of the visiting breeders are bringing their best animals, including several winners of championship awards at other shows, while Te Awamutu district breeders have also champions to represent them. Then, again, in the ring competitions that have proved so popular with patrons in previous years, there will be some exceedingly capable jumpers and well-mannered hacks and ponies. Sheep will this year have a far larger representation than at any previous exhibition locally, and no doubt the sheep pens will attract a large number of patrons to view the best that the district produces. In the horticultural section there is sure to be a worthy exhibit, the pror duce of farm and home garden being displayed so as to allow of comparison. A point worthy,.of note by exhibitors is that they would be well advised to send or take their exhibits along early to-morrow morning to enable the committee to stage them to best advantage, so that the judges may complete their work before the exhibition is thrown open to the public. , The grand parade will, of course, be the most spectacular event of the day, and it promises to have even more participants than in previous years. To make the catalogues more attractive to the public, the executive has arranged to number the competitors in the riding -events, and the corresponding numbers will be easily found in the catalogues. The response from well-wishers ol the show to the Association's appeal for donations was, as previously announced, splendid, and an acknowledgment appears in the catalogue. Probably the donors would find most satisfaction in a record attendance at the show that they have done so much to help. . , There will, as usual, be a number of trade displays, with the latest models in motor cars, implements, 'and labour-saving devices for farm and Household, while the side shows that seem to be inseparable from agricultural exhibitions will also be in evidIt is to be hoped the weather will continue fine, but, as one farmer remarked yesterday, "let the ram come > down afterwards as much as it will, for the pastures are in great need of a thoroughly good soaking."
