KNOCKED DOWN BY TRAIN
MAN DIES IN HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph. Press Association.) WAIPUKURAU, Monday. A single man, Alfred Death, aged 61, was struck by a train near Takapau station on Saturday morning. He was picked up in a serious condition and conveyed to the Waipukurau hospital, where he died yesterday afternoon. An inquest was opened this morning before Dr Kendall, district coroner. Evidence of identification was taken and the inquiry then adjourned until Monday next.
