John Snobb, a cobbler in a little village, was quite up-to-date in his business methods. Over the door of his establishment appeared one of the new daylight signs, with the words: "The Boot Hospital." The other day a customer brought a pair of boots to be repaired. "I don't think they are worth it," declared the cobbler, frankly. "But look here," protested the other, "I want 'em mended and this is supposed to be a hospital, isn't it?" "Oh, yes," agreed the man behind the counter, "that's right enough, but it's not ta, mortuary, at the same time."
