WEDDING

ANDERSON—ELLIOT. A very pretty wedding took p'lace in the Presbyterian Church, Ohaupo, ajt 7 pun,, on Wednesday last. The bride was Winifred, eldest “daughter of Mr and Mrs George Elliot, of Lake Road, Ohaupo, and the bridegroom Hugh, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Andrew Andetrson, of H a niilton. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. J. Gilbert, of Hamilton. The bride entred the church on her father’s arm, ia,nd looked very charming in a beautiful frock of ivory georgette, with trim;mings of fillette lace, and an embroidered silk veil, with coronet of orange blosr/oms. ‘The chief bridesmaid, Miss Mavis Elliot, of Thames, wore pale gr&eh crepe de chine, with black veilvet trimmings, and diamante necklace . and amulets. The second bridesmaid, Mjiss Flora Elliot (sister of the bride), wore mauve crepe de chine, with pink rosea The flower girl, Miss Ailsa Anderson, was attired in maize crepe de chine, with mauve trimmings. The bride carried a shower bouquet of freesias, roses, double anemones, and: maidenhair fern; and tlhe bridesmlaids each carried a shower bouquet of freesias, roses, sweet peas, and maidenhair fern; the floweir girll carried a posy of primroses. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Bruce Anderson, as best man, and Mr Bruce EllJJot (brother of the bride) w'as groomsman. The bride’s mother wore black georgette, black lilait, and fox fur; while the mother of the bridegroom wore navy creep de chine, With fawn trimmings, and black hat. After the ceremony the guests went to a delicious wedding breakfast in Lake. View Public Hall, where, in thet centre of the taffies, was a big wedding- cake, a present from an old friend of the bride. The usuial toasts were honoured. Seventy guests attended the breakfast, and later the hall was cleared and dancing and other amusements were indulged in. The young couple left about 10 p.m. for Auckland, the bride’s travelling dress being of fawn silk marocain, with green ffiimimings, and hat to match, she also wore a velour coat with squirrel trimmings. Tho presents were numerous a;nd beautiful, including *a number of substantial cheques. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a complete ivory toilet set, and to the bridesmaids he gave signet rings and a snake-shaped arm|let. The bride’s present to the groom was a smoker’s outfit. The future home of the young couple will be Nukuhau, Bay of Plenty.
