ATTACKED IN STREETS

MINER STRUCK ON HEAD. WAIHI, Wednesday. When returning to his hoarding house in the main thoroughfare about 11 o’clock last nffght after having visited some friends at the east end of tblel town a miner, William L. Rudd, was attacked by some person or persons unknown anti struck on the head with such violence that he collapsed on the footpath. The next he re' memibered was that his head was aching land bleeding freely.
