MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The management committee held its usual weekly meeting last evening the following being present:—Messrs F. Quin (chairman), H. T. Haselden, G. S. Clarke, G. Melrose, W. Cavanagh, 'S. A. McNamara, G. Gifford, G. W. Mairs, and E. T. Crump (honorary secretary).

The application of Ngakaho (Parawera) for re-grading to junior was granted. Applications for grants from the schools fund were received from the Parawera, Puahuje, and Tokanui public schools, and in each case 10s was granted. . The case of G. Black (Rovers) who was reported at last meeting by the referee for ridiculing his- decisions in front of spectators was again brought before the meeting.

In explanation Black admitted having an argument with the referee after the match on the awarding of a try to United which he (Black) maintained he had forced down. H'e was not abusive and they were not arguing for long. A few. spectators were standing around but there certainly was not a crowd. He did not ridicule the referee and when told he would be reported to the Union he told the referee to "fire ahead." After the matter had been fully discussed it was decided to severely caution Black for his conduct. A discussion took place on the habit of spectators calling out disparaging remarks to referees during the progress of matches. It was ultimately decided that in future union officials should report any spectator offending in this respect, The matter of each team supplying a ball for all matches was again discussed it being further pointed out that two teams were at fault on Saturday last.—lt was decided to write Parawera Club pointing out that a recurrence of such offence would result in their forfeiting the match. It was decided to invite Cambridge Union to send senior, junior, and third grade teams to play at Te Awamutu. Mr Winter applied for permission to, play the ..annual schools seven asAdetourney on 14th August.—Granted. It-, was also decided to donate s«.ven_ medals for the winning teas*.
