(Own Correspondent.) A happy little function took place after Bible Class last Monday night, when the members farewelled two of their members, Misses E. and S. Foster, who are leaving the district. Mrs Hardie spoke a few words on behalf of the class, expressing, the regret felt at the loss of two of their most regular attendants, and asked each to accept a little gift as a token of the goodwill and esteem of their fellow members. A nice supper partaken of in the vestry was much appreciated by all before turning out 1 in the cold for home. •A meeting of members of the Paterangi Anglican Church was held, last Wednesday afternoon, at which it was decided to hold a grand concert and dance next Friday night, July 16th, in the Paterangi Hall in aid of the church funds. Among the performers will be some of Hamilton's -leading talent, and the public are assured of a "good run for their money." The coming departure frOm the district of the Rev. A. Hardie and Mrs Hardie is a matter of general and sincere regret. During the two and a half years they have been in our midst they have endeared themselves to every section of the community and their loss will be keenly felt. , Mr . Hardie leaves in response to a unanimous call from Martinborough, and . his induction' into that parish (takes place at Featherston on July 29th". A farewell was tendered to Mrs A. Hardie last Wednesday afternoon by the members of the P.W.M.U. and Girls' Auxiliary, at the residence of Mrs H. Rhodes. The afternoon was passed pleasantly in competitions, musical and vocal items and social chat. A competition, in which everyone represented a song, was won by Mrs Hardie, s whilst Miss E. Macky was the winner of a competition entitled "Trees." Songs were rendered by Mrs Hardie and Mrs W. Germann; the Misses M. Macky and N. Rhodes each played a pianoforte 'solo. Mrs W. G. Macky, as president' of the P.W.M.U., expressed the regret felt by that body at the departure of Mrs Hardie, and asked her to accept from the members a beautifulbronze vase and a bouquet of violets as a token of their esteem and remembrance Mrs Hardie thanked the ladies for the kind wishes conveyed by their beautiful gift and feelingly referred to the many . happy days she had spent with the members of the P.W.M.U. and Girls' Auxiliary, and the pleasure it had given her to work among them. She ■expresed sorrow fit the thought of saying good-bye, but both she and M r Hardie felt that they had been called to a wider sphere of labour. A dainty afternoon tea terminated a very enjoyable afternoon.

The dance held in the Paterangi Hall last Thursday night was not so successful as usual. The attendance from outside districts was very disappointing, due no doubt to counter attractions. The floor was in excellent order. A spot dance, jgliich caused a good deal o£ was won by Mr T. Oldham B. Shaw. Messrs R. Foster J. Burrows made efficient M's.C. appetising supper -provided by thßadies added greatly to the evening'^fcjoy-
