LIVING ON THE SUN
IDEALISM BEFORE FOOD. Europe’s largest convention of people who d,o not believe in eating has ji\st pitched tents along the Hungarian shore at Xeusiedler 'Sea, a lake on the Austro-German border. They •are the disciples of tl^ Budapest “fasting apostle.” Bicserdy, who preaches that food makes people materialistic, and that the quicker they are weaned from it the sooner they will become real idealists. In the camp of Bicserdy’s followers there is no cooking place or stove. All his followers may eat is fresh fruit, but even then in small quantities, and -not too ofte\ While 1 they are at it they placidly squat in front of their tents, in Adamite costumes, of course, basking in the. sun, which they claim fully atones for the loss of three square meals a day.
