NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday
A deputation representing the unemployed waited oh the Mayor this morning and ui'gec) .that the Borough Council provide’ them wiith work. The Mayor said it was impossible to do much, but he would do what he could for married men with dependents.
The leader of the deputation said that 51 married and ,54 single men were enrolled as unemployed. One had walked from Hawke’s Bay- seeking work.
The Mayor said the first duty was to local men. who 'would, be considered before men. from other districts.
