LAKE COLERIDGE POWER
(By Telegraph. Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. Yesterday marked the completion of the construction work for the extension of the Lake Coleridge hydro-el-ectric scheme, as a result of which an additional 15,000 kilowatts of power will shortly be available for the use of the people of Canterbury. The water from the lake has not yet been turned into the new tunnel, and the new generators are. therefore, not yet running; hut the civil engineering branch of the Public works Department has completed its share of the work, and has handed over the job in good order and condition to the electrical branch. i The total cost of the extension is about £350.000. •
