TE AWAMUTU CLUB’S TOURNEY.

ONEHUNGA WINS TOURNAMENT. The bowling tournament which began on Monday at Victoria Park has been in progress all the week, the finals being played this morning. The fixture; has been a great success, providing enjoyment not only for the players but for the spectators, of whom there have been a large number ea|ch day. .There have been many keenly-contested .games, and interest ran, high when the winners of the section play had to be determined, yesterday. The sky has been overcast each day, and a drizzling rain fell at one stage . .yesterday. Despite the rain, however, tthe greens remained in excellent playing order, and visitors are loud in their praises of the local club’s playing area. 'Some, even, are quite outspokenly envious. The club’s lady supporters have rendered, excellent service, providing luncheon and' afternoon tea each day in a liberal—even a lavish—manner. To the ladies’ efforts may ver ycertainly be traced a good deal of the success of the tournament.
